United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals
When working with clients who are wanting to make a positive difference in the world, and unsure how to do so, I like to share with them the UN’s 17 Global Sustainable Development Goals. These goals show the true needs on our planet and after studying them an individual may get excited in exploring which goal(s) are in alignment with their values. Here they are:
- No Poverty: (SDG 1)
- Zero Hunger: (SDG 2)
- Good Health and Well-being: (SDG 3)
- Quality Education: (SDG 4)
- Gender Equality: (SDG 5)
- Clean Water and Sanitation: (SDG 6)
- Affordable and Clean Energy: (SDG 7)
- Decent Work and Economic Growth: (SDG 8)
- Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure: (SDG 9)
- Reduced Inequalities: (SDG 10)
- Sustainable Cities and Communities: (SDG 11)
- Responsible Consumption and Production: (SDG 12)
- Climate Action: (SDG 13)
- Life Below Water: (SDG 14)
- Life on Land: (SDG 15)
- Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions: (SDG 16)
- Partnerships for the Goals: (SDG 17)
Here’s the website: https://sdgs.un.org/goals
When exploring the website these goals go in depth with statistics, current projects, ways to get involved and upcoming related events.
When taking an in depth look at the website with a client I can have a conversation about how a goal or two resonates with them. At that point the website allows one to dig deeper into each goal and see where it may take them. Then after the client’s research we can have a conversation about how they may want to get involved.
I highly recommend this site when working with clients and would like to hear your views on the 17 UN”s Sustainable Development Goals.
